Thursday's Headlines - Marvel Movies Nominated

Marvel Studios' Black Panther has earned three Golden Globe nominations, including a "Best Motion Picture - Drama" nod. Along with that, the Marvel-based Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse from Sony Pictures Animation picked up a "Best Motion Picture - Animated" nomination. Nomainees for the 76th annual Golden Globe Awards were announced Thursday morning, in a ceremony overseen by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and Dick Clark Productions.

In the "Best Motion Picture - Drama" category, Black Panther is in contention with BlacKkKlansman, Bohemian Rhapsody, If Beale Street Could Talk, and A Star Is Born. In addition to that, the Ryan Coogler-directed film picked up nominations for "Best Original Score - Motion Picture" (for composer Ludwig Göransson) and "Best Original Song - Motion Picture" for "All the Stars" by Kendrick Lamar & SZA.

In the "Best Motion Picture - Animated" category, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is vying with Incredibles 2, Isle of Dogs, Mirai, and Ralph Breaks the Internet.
