Friday's Headlines | Avengers: Endgame Update

Updated from yesterday: Avengers: Endgame has grossed $169 million in opening days from 25 major international markets, according to BoxOfficePro. China led the way with $107.5m - slightly higher than Disney's estimates from Wednesday (as seen below). Infinity War previously opened on a Friday in the Middle Kingdom.

Here's some selected Endgame openings, compared to 2018's Avengers: Infinity War first day openings in the same markets: South Korea with $8.4m ($6.5m); Australia, $7m ($6.7M); France, $6m ($3.9m), Italy, $5.8m ($3.9m); Philippines, $3.9m ($2.7m).

Additional foreign Endgame opening day receipts are Germany at $6.5m, Hong Kong with $2.7m, Taiwan at $2.6m, Indonesia with $2.5m, Thailand with $2.4m, and Malaysia with $2.0m.

Endgame reportedly opens in 21 additional markets on Thursday, including: Argentina, Brazil, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Israel, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey, United Kingdom, Ukraine, Panama, Uruguay, Paraguay, Peru, Trinidad, Bolivia, Chile, and Columbia.

The film officially opens in North America on Friday (today), but preview screenings begin Thursday at 6pm local time. Endgame will reportedly be shown in over 4,662 screens domestically - including 3,900 3D locations, 410 IMAX screens, 785 Premium Large Format screens, and 250 immersive seating locations.
