Friday's Headlines | Disney+ LOKI Will Tie Into DOCTOR STRANGE 2

Disney+'s Loki TV series will lead directly into 2021's Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness according to Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige.

Feige revealed the connection to Bloomberg, saying “I’m not sure we’ve actually acknowledged that before, but it does.”

Feige stopped short of explaining how the streaming TV series would tie into the Doctor Strange sequel - but there may be some clues to consider. For one thing, Loki will bridge off of the Asgardian trickster's appearance in Avengers: Endgame, which created an alternate timeline in which Loki escaped with the Tesseract instead of being captured at the end of the original Avengers movie.

And of course, that branching timeline points directly to a multiverse - a concept that's come up previously in Doctor Strange. Additionally, Disney+'s WandaVision will also lead into Multiverse of Madness, with Wanda playing a key role in the film.

Then there are comic book stories to consider - such as Donny Cates' recent Doctor Strange story in which Loki finagles the mantle of Sorcerer Supreme from Strange.

Loki and WandaVision are expected to premiere on Disney+ in 2021, while Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness is due out in theaters May 7, 2021.
